1. General Terms

By applying for this volunteer program, you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.

Volunteering with us requires flexibility, a positive attitude, and an understanding that you will be working in a developing country where conditions may differ significantly from your home environment.

The program fees you pay contribute to the projects, local staff, and operational costs necessary to support sustainable development.

2. Application and Payment

A deposit is required to secure your program placement. The remaining balance must be paid in full at least 30 days before the program start date.

Program fees are non-refundable except in specific circumstances outlined in this agreement.

If you fail to pay the remaining balance on time, your spot may be forfeited.
​
3. Cancellations and Adjustments

If you need to cancel your program, you must notify us in writing as soon as possible.

Refunds will only be considered under the following conditions:

Cancellations more than 60 days before the program start date may be eligible for a partial refund, minus the deposit.
-
No refunds will be provided for cancellations made less than 60 days before the program start date.

If you decide to depart your program early, no refunds will be provided.

Instead of a refund, we offer flexible options:

You may transfer your program dates as many times as needed, free of charge.

You may transfer programs to a different destination free of chare, subjet to availablility and program requirements.

You may hold your program as a credit to use at a later date, also free of charge.

4. Program Changes and Flexibility

While we strive to maintain the schedule and activities outlined for your program, unforeseen circumstances may require changes to your itinerary or accommodation. These changes will be communicated with you and will fall under the same standard/type as you have booked.

Any adjustments will be communicated promptly, and we will provide suitable alternatives wherever possible.

5. Accommodation

Volunteers will be accommodated in shared dorm-style housing.

There is an option to book private rooms, but these are limited and do involve an additional cost. If you book a private room then decide to shift to a standard dorm, we can not offer a refund for the difference.

We carefully select accommodation providers to ensure comfort and safety, but volunteers should understand this is basic volunteer housing and not high-end or hotel-standard lodging.

Volunteers are responsible for safeguarding their belongings during their stay. We are not liable for damages, loss, or theft of personal items.

Any damages caused to the accommodation by a volunteer may result in additional charges to cover repair or replacement costs.

6. Travel and Insurance

Volunteers are responsible for arranging and paying for their travel to and from the program location, including flights, visas, vaccinations, and any additional travel expenses. We provide volunteers with their airport pick up on arrival, along with the outlined program inclusions under each program type.

Comprehensive travel insurance is recommended and must cover medical emergencies, accidents, and personal liability.

7. Health and Safety

Volunteers are required to disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or dietary restrictions prior to arrival.

It is the volunteer's responsibility to follow all health and safety guidelines provided during orientation and throughout the program.

8. Conduct and Behavior

Volunteers are expected to act respectfully toward local communities, program staff, and other volunteers.

Any inappropriate or harmful behaviour, including the violation of local laws, may result in immediate dismissal from the program without refund. This may also include any deemed inappropriate behaviour towards other volunteers on the program also.

9. Responsibility and Liability

The organization is not responsible for injuries, accidents, or illnesses that occur during the program or in the accommodation.

Volunteers participate in the program at their own risk.

10. Property Damages

Volunteers are responsible for any damage they cause to accommodation, program property, or equipment during their stay.

Costs for repairs or replacements will be billed directly to the volunteer if damage is determined to be intentional or due to negligence.

11. Media and Confidentiality

By participating in the program, you consent to the use of photos, videos, or testimonials taken during your placement for promotional purposes. We will ask you for your permission upon sending your photos to us.

Volunteers are expected to respect the privacy of other participants and the confidentiality of any sensitive information related to the program.

12. Force Majeure

The organization will not be held liable for cancellations or interruptions caused by events outside our control, including natural disasters, pandemics, or political instability.

13. Program Participation

The program requires active engagement from volunteers, and failure to participate in scheduled activities without prior notice may result in dismissal.

Volunteers must adapt to the program’s requirements and be prepared for challenges inherent to working in developing environments.

Volunteers are expected to approach their programs with an open mind and withought specific expectations, other than what we discuss in the lead up to your trip. The nature of volunteering is to work with some of the worlds most challenged communities. Therefore, circimstances that may seem unusual, frustraiting or challenging are expected. We have dedicated teams to assist you throughout your program.

14. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions will be resolved amicably where possible. Failing that, disputes will be handled under the applicable laws of the program’s host country.
