
Support Women’s Rights & Gender Equality in Tanzania
Looking for a study abroad experience focused on gender studies and women’s empowerment? This volunteer overseas opportunity allows you to work directly with women’s groups, helping to facilitate leadership training, entrepreneurship workshops, and community outreach programs. Volunteers will participate in educational sessions on gender-based violence, economic empowerment, and women’s rights in Tanzania, while supporting sustainable development initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for students or professionals passionate about human rights, women’s advocacy, and social justice.

Itinerary
Week 1
Monday: Orientation + Understanding Gender Equality in Tanzania

Discuss challenges women face in education & employment

Introduction to local women’s empowerment initiatives
Tuesday - Friday: Women’s Rights Shelter Activities

Assist in running gender equality training sessions

Support local women’s groups in skill-building (e.g., entrepreneurship, leadership)

Saturday: Free day OR Optional 1-Day Safari
Sunday: Cultural Day

1 Day Safari in Ngronogoro Crater
The Worlds 8th Natural Wonder
You will be picked up, bright and early to go at 6am. You will spend the morning driving into Ngorongoro National Park, where you will have the opportunity to see one of the worlds most incredible natural landscapes. Pictures do not do justice for how incredible the crater looks from the rim.
Later, you will descend into the crater for a day of game driving, where you will see an abundance of animals and wildlife. Later on the day you will drive back to Arusha town, where you will be returned to your accommodation. On the safari, Lunch and drinking water is provided.
