Love sports? Turn your passion into impact by joining our Sports Assistant Coaching volunteer program abroad. This volunteer overseas opportunity allows you to coach young athletes in football, basketball, and volleyball while teaching essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and discipline. You’ll assist local coaches, organize training sessions, and help plan a mini sports tournament for the community.
This program is ideal for sports management students, coaches-in-training, and anyone passionate about youth development through sports.

Itinerary
Week 1
Monday: Orientation + Introduction to Sports Development in Tanzania

Learn about the role of sports in education & youth development

Tour local schools & sports facilities
Tuesday - Thursday: Coaching & Training Sessions

Assist in training young athletes in football, basketball, or volleyball

Organize drills, warm-ups, and team-building activities

Help design fun, engaging sports lessons for different age groups
Friday: Health & Well-being in Sports

Lead discussions on nutrition, injury prevention & mental health in athletics

Work with local coaches on fitness & conditioning exercises
Saturday: Free day OR Optional 1-Day Safari
Sunday: Cultural Day

Visit the Maasai Market for souvenirs & crafts

Week 2
Monday - Friday: Sports for Development & Community Engagement

1 Day Safari in Ngronogoro Crater
The Worlds 8th Natural Wonder
You will be picked up, bright and early to go at 6am. You will spend the morning driving into Ngorongoro National Park, where you will have the opportunity to see one of the worlds most incredible natural landscapes. Pictures do not do justice for how incredible the crater looks from the rim.
Later, you will descend into the crater for a day of game driving, where you will see an abundance of animals and wildlife. Later on the day you will drive back to Arusha town, where you will be returned to your accommodation. On the safari, Lunch and drinking water is provided.
